Sponsor a Child in Nepal
Sponsoring a child in Nepal via WYI ensures their development through education, basic health and income generation. The child receives a scholarship to attend school, and the fee also ensures they have regular meals, a school uniform and school books. When a child receives a scholarship to attend our school, it is for a three year period. The child's performance and commitment is then assessed by the school management committee. If it is satisfactory, a further three year scholarship is provided. You can also choose to sponsor a child to live in WYI's Sapana Dreaming Children's Home which provides shelter, education, health care and a loving environment for up to 50 orphaned children. Sponsoring a orphaned child in Kenya allows them to live in a healthy and safe environment at the WYI Owiti Children's Home. Here it is ensured that the child has regular meals, clean water to drink, access to adequate medical facilities and also can attend school with uniforms and books provided. The sponsored child is selected by members of WYI overseas staff and the community, in accordance with our established selection criteria.
What you receive from World Youth International
WYI provides you with a photo and details of your sponsored child, regular letters/drawings from the child as well as newsletters and updates on our organisation. In return we ask you to supply a family photo and personal details. We encourage regular communication between you and your child but ask that you do not send gifts because of our development policy. You are openly invited to visit your sponsor child but permission must be obtained in advance from WYI. A visiting sponsor must be accompanied by a WYI staff person and is not permitted to visit the child's home or spend time with the child unsupervised.
