Fundraising & Tax Deductibility

Fundraising for World Youth International is a very rewarding experience and is a great way to make a global contribution with your time and effort, instead of your finances. Donations are tax deductible!
Tax Deductible Donations
Any donations that are made to your fundraising efforts are fully tax deductible. WYI will provide you with a receipt book so you can issue tax deductible receipts. Rally your friends, corporate groups, work colleges, and contacts to make a donation to your campaign!
Please note: 'donation' means the donator receives nothing in return - for example, if you are selling tickets to an event, this is not tax deductible.
There are a number of causes you could fundraise for:
Fundraise for your Program Fee
Do you want to participate on one of our overseas volunteer programs but are restricted financially? Perhaps you should consider fundraising! Get a group of friends together and organise an event such as a movie night or a garage sale. When you deposit the money you have raised to WYI, it will be taken off of your program fee!
This method has been very successful in the past with some participants managing to fundraise their entire program fee, plus more. If you choose to fundraise, WYI will provide you with a full Fundraising Kit that includes tax deductible receipts, ideas, terms and conditions, an authorization card, plus handy hints & tips!
Fundraise for In-Country Projects
As a program participant, you can also fundraise before leaving Australia, and the money can be used on your placement in addition to your allocated project allowance. You can choose where your funds are distributed and use them for a certain project close to your heart. This may be by immunizing a family against disease or building a house for a local family, depending on the amount of funds you can raise and the need of your community.
As a returned volunteer, you can also continue to support your friends overseas. If there is a project you wish to create, you may fundraise through WYI.
Fundraise to Support World Youth International
As a non-for-profit organisation, WYI operates on an extremely small administration and expenditures budget. Fundraising to support the operational costs of WYI will be very much appreciated. Your funds will help ensure the success of WYI's operations.
