Hands on role building sustainable structures in rural villages while you live and play with the local community.

There is no need for any previous construction skills as we work hand in hand with local labourers - all you need is passion, and a commitment to give it a go and get your hands dirty.

Your construction project will build a structure which the community desperately needs, in the areas of Primary Health Care, Income Generation and Education & Training.

Individually, you will also have the opportunity to work within a community in an area you are passionate about such as education, or in an orphanage or street kids home.

World Youth International asks all volunteers to respect the cultural values of the communities. Although alcohol is permitted within moderation while in built up areas, we have a strictly no drinking policy in the villages.

You can choose to work in one of the pre-arranged placements or WYI will work with you to create an individual placement or project in your country of choice.

OSP professional placements
- Create an individual volunteer placement within your profession. As a trained professional, you can really use your skills to make a difference in a developing country, and the experience is invaluable.

OSP teaching placements
- If you are a qualified teacher, we can place you straight into a hands-on role. We also accept non qualified teachers for this program and we provide you with a TESOL training program.*

*Our TESOL course is provided by The English Training Centre.

OSP general placements
- If you would like to make a meaningful contribution in a developing country, but you are not exactly sure how, then this placement is for you. There are over 40 different placement options available including orphanage support, street children programs, health and sanitation projects, education, and support for community and women's groups.
